Sometimes, the best stories begin with a twist. Nishil invited Swathi for a coffee date, only to learn she didn’t drink coffee. In that moment, they traded coffee for hot chocolate—richer, warmer, and unexpectedly sweet. What should have been a brief chat became a four-hour deep dive, full of laughter, stories, and unexpected turns—including when Nishil described watching the fog roll in over San Francisco, while Swathi—living inside it—was baffled at first. Now, she’s come to love that view too, and they both appreciate each other’s perspective. From that first pivot, they’ve embraced adventures—traveling from Santa Barbara to Madrid to Chennai. Closer to home, they host Ocean Beach bonfires and dinner gatherings with friends in San Francisco, building community wherever they go. They quickly became inseparable, and in November 2025, they were engaged on a quintessential, magical foggy San Francisco evening, overlooking the ocean. Now, they’re ready to pivot into marriage—blending retro Hollywood and Indo-Western interior design aesthetics, merging North and South Indian cultures, and building a life of balance and adventure—together.
